About
The Michèle Vasarely Foundation
The Michèle Vasarely Foundation is a private entity dedicated to promoting and interpreting the work and thought of Victor Vasarely (1906-1997), great master of abstraction, pioneer of optical and kinetic art, and promoter of an aesthetic message that met with universal approval in its time. It is also dedicated to disseminating and promoting the work of Yvaral, Jean-Pierre Vasarely (1934-2002), who was one of the first artists to conceptualize and systemize digital art in its most didactic form, at a time when technology had not yet penetrated our daily lives.
About Michèle Vasarely
Michèle Vasarely is a world-renowned Vasarely expert. She has been entrusted by the artist, during his lifetime, with the authentication of his artworks.
She is also the leading authority on Yvaral’s work and the holder of the artist’s moral rights, with whom she shared 40 years of her life. Yvaral immortalized Michèle in a series of digital portraits that you can find in the “Yvaral’s Muse” section.
Over the decades, Michèle Vasarely has collaborated with both artists on numerous projects such as the Renault logo, the RTL facade in Paris, the Taittinger Champagne bottle, etc., as well as prestigious retrospectives at the Josef Albers Museum, the Juan March Foundation, the Wilhelm-Hack Museum in Ludwigshafen, the Mitsukoshi Museum in Tokyo and the Milan Triennale.
